Artist Watch - Jorge Straub PART 2
Jorge is an amazing artist from Brazil. He has an elaborate collection of pieces modeled carefully in 3D. Most of what he showcases are famous bosses and levels from the retro “Sonic the Hedgehog” video games for the Sega Genesis. Each image brings 16-bit images to life in 3D. His designs stay very true to the original bosses and levels so the nostalgia of the retro Sonic legacy stays intact. Be sure to check out his deviantART gallery to see more of Jorge’s amazing work.
The great and mighty nahte of deviantART (aka Ethan) is a 24 year old digital artist hailing from Oklahoma. Ethan not only is an amazing 3D artist, he also plays piano and bass guitar. Ethan uses a variety of programs to make his 3D and fractal art including Blender, LuxRender, Chaoscope, Apophysis and/or Photoshop. Ethan even has art that appeals to gamers (although his gallery is by no means limited to this audience) showcasing a 3D reimagining of classic 16 bit levels from “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” originally for the Sega Genesis. Check this artist out as soon as possible.
Inspiring Themes - Snow Sculptures
[Art ideas to live by]
In some regions during the winter it usually snows. Families who live in warmer regions will take trips during winter break just to experience the winter wonderland. Everybody seems to have the urge to build a snowman at some point but why stop with snowmen? Why not do something much more elaborate such as a a chinese dragon or (if you’re really daring) a life-size building? Snow sculpting is much like sand sculpting and if you’re in a place covered by snow, why not give it a shot?
