Concept Art - Tron: Uprising
Tron: Uprising is a TV show from Disney XD set in the Tron universe. It’s meant to take place between the movies Tron from 1982 and Tron: Legacy from in 2010 filling in some of the history that took place between films. Darren Bacon, a concept artist who’s worked with Disney and Electronic Arts, designed much of the driving concept art for this TV production. Even though the show has since been canceled, his vibrant use of glowing neon colors is signature of the Tron series but his stylistic portrayal is something in and of itself.
Concept Art - Marvel Anime
At the San Diego Comic Con in 2009 an announcement was made that a Marvel Comics anime series was in the works for Japanese audiences. Giving full control to the animation studio of Madhouse to reimagine many famous Marvel characters in the style of anime. These included characters such as Wolverine, Blade and Iron Man along with others. All shows aired on the Animax network in Japan throughout 2010 and 2011. It was also shown on G4TV in the USA and the SF Channel in Australia. The Concept art for this project showcases the multi-franchise transition from a classic US comic book style to a Japanese manga/anime style.
Concept Art - Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol
Doctor Who is a massive-scale British TV sensation that dates all the way back to 1963. The show has since gained international recognition for its imaginative scifi-fantasy and cross-genre appeal. The adventures of the witty Doctor and his companions all across time and space are both charming and exiting. An ongoing tradition of the show is to have a Christmas special every year making it one of the only notable science fiction TV shows to feature Christmas specials. In the 2010 Christmas special titled “A Christmas Carol” the Doctor had to save his companions from a crashing spacecraft. To do this he must alter the timeline of an old miser who dislikes Christmas, a reference to Ebenezer Scrooge. Also, you can watch the trailer for the episode here.
