Inspiring Themes - Cartography
[Art ideas to live by]
Maps have been around for at least 3000 years, the earliest for certain coming from the ancient city of Babylon. Through the ages maps have become more and more elaborate. From the artistic maps of medieval times to the modern day google maps, mapmaking (aka cartography) is something the world can’t do without. But one thing most people don’t think about when viewing maps is that many maps are artistic with all the effort that goes into them. Some artists will try to map things in the normal scientific way but some artists will create maps in untraditional styles. These include fantasy maps, star maps, mental maps and more. Some have even created their own worlds using maps as a guide. George Lucas’ “Star Wars” universe and J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth are perhaps some of the most well known of these things. For any artist looking to design new worlds, this is an excellent project to look into.

Original Post

From its 5 month run here on Echofour Studios the My Choice articles have become a reflection of the editorial taste of this blog. My Choice - Top 10 Greatest Comic Book Superheroes

I can’t say that I know a whole lot about all the superheroes I’m about to talk about. I’m going to state what I do know to form my conclusions. This isn’t a list of which comic books I read the most as a kid. Some of these I’ve never read anything about, I’ve only been told things about them. That being said, I’m not rating on what happens in detail. This is about who has the coolest image in my opinion and why I think that. Everyone has their own opinion and depending on what you come to know, these things may change. I don’t deny that but I am writing this in the present and I can’t speak for my future tastes. Anyway, I though this might be interesting to go into. Here we go….

 Opening the Darkest Door
I have recently come across a most disturbing phenomenon in my studies of the Diabolic Infestation of the Soul. It seems there is a most frightening psychological conundrum when considering the concept of demonic possession even the most remote possibility of reality upon our earthly plane is the notion that just believing it may be true could very likely be the spark needed for the Demon to discover, seek out, and ultimately inhabit its next vessel of evil: You.

-Inspiring Themes-

Inspiring Themes is a new article series I have planned for this blog. It will sit alongside the Artist Watch, My Choice and Amazing Products articles. The description is as follows:

“This is a series of articles showcasing a unique and interesting theme shared by multiple works of art. The purpose of such articles is to educate and inspire so that other artists may be motivated to create their own original concepts using these themes as a starting point.”

Be sure to look under the Articles Tab every so often to keep up with new posts.

or even existence of any current art “movement” … comes “suggestivism,” the “ism” best summing up what art is in our lives today, defined
 more by what it

Infinity Seven Takes On the Coming Zerg Invasion

by $techgnotic

StarCraft II is the hot tournament videogame that just may breakthrough as the harbinger of the esports phenomenon and one of the great cultural game-changers of all time. Midnight in Anaheim. Caffeinated casters boom rapid fire commentary rattling the packed hall. Elite StarCraft players from around the globe execute complex strats that would have made Rommel the Desert Fox himself proud. 15,000 are in attendance, on the edge of their seats, and cheering as loudly as any soccer match as they watch the 30-foot screens hanging from the rafters. Another few hundred thousand are watching the streams live. The feeling is that of an NCAA Final Fou
