All the reports date from 1990 to 1995. Instead of simply throwing these documents away, Joe decided to portray the crimes artistically onto the abandoned paper. Joe’s approach doesn’t just play off the stories behind each piece. He visually plays with the aesthetics of the reports. He does such things as mimicking the colors of the below image and creating overlap effects by stacking forms. In some of the pieces he even uses the charts like the frames in a comic book to tell the story. Although Joe is leaving space in his works, his imagery is complex and tight, cramming a lot of content into a small amount of space. This dynamic feel really keeps the viewer’s eye on the move as he creates a “jungle” of professional-grade doodles for the mind to play with. Jamy can scorch the weather forecast onto your toast so that you can see the weather while you have breakfast. Imagine this….you go to a bed and breakfast and order a side of toast. When served, you notice that the weather is scorched onto your toast and smile.
