Inspiring Themes - Future Firearms
Mankind has been creating weapons since the dawn of time it seems, starting with spears and later creating swords. The bow and arrow was an incredible invention as it gave hunters the ability to target pray from afar whereas soldiers could snipe their enemies from far behind the front lines. This concept later evolved into more powerful (and also dangerous) weapons such as guns.
Guns have always been a part of film and science fiction. The power of a gun in the right hands is a good thing but in the wrong hands it may cause the heroes of film to fall deep into trouble. Gun rights laws are still heavily debated to this day because it can give a person so much power (for better or worse). At the same time, military development continues in order to compete with foreign nations who may get a technological advantage otherwise. Because of this, military forces will likely carry guns throughout the foreseeable future.
With firearms advancing more throughout time, one must imagine what the next stage in military gunnery will be all about. Some say lasers, others say focused EMP blasts but only time will tell. Until then, artists will continue to imagine the future of firearms.
