Inspiring Themes - Chess Concepts
The age old art of chess easily dates back to the 2nd century B.C. and although there is some debate over the details of Chess’s origins, the age old board game’s visual design have perhaps changed more than the concept behind the game itself. Variations as wild as the Super Mario Chess Set are sold all over.
Since chess is such a classic game of wit and intellect it has inspired many artists to create chess sets in increasingly more interesting ways. Some artists portray the pieces in the image of classic video game characters as fans whereas others may try to make the pieces look like robots or even mutant abominations, and maybe even attempt to make the chess pieces look like real characters.
In a world of many new genres being made and many old genres being used, some pretty interesting new chess inspired art has been created.
