Concept Art - Sonic Generations PART 2
“Sonic the Hedgehog” is a classic video game franchise dating back to the 16 bit era in 1991. Even though Sonic’s games were some of the greatest 2D platformers of the 90s, he’s had a rough time making the transition into the era of 3D gaming. After about a decade of growing pains, Sonic finally got a grasp in 3D gaming in 2010 with the release of “Sonic Colors”. To keep the momentum on Sonic’s 20th anniversary, “Sonic Generations” was released. This new game celebrated the franchise by allowing players to revisit the greatest moments of Sonic’s past. Everything from the old school Chemical Plant from “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” to the modern Planet Wisp from “Sonic Colors” was featured. The concept art for this game shows how the levels were redesigned for modern HD graphics; All levels were given a modern makeover to mix things up and it worked very well.
